Bring Your Own Device
Technology has become an essential part of education at Heathcote High School. To be able to live, learn, and work successfully in our information-rich society, students must be able to utilise technology effectively. Many students' lives today are filled with technology that gives them ubiquitous access to information and resources.
In 2016, Heathcote High School introduced the Bring your own device (BYOD) program for Years 7 and 8. Students in Years 7 and 8 are now bringing their own mobile computing devices to school for use in their classes. A filtered Internet connection will be provided for students to use for educational purposes.
BYOD is being extended to all of the students in Years 7, 8 and 9 for 2018. Students currently in Year 6 who have enrolled into Heathcote High School for Year 7 in 2018 are required to bring a computing device to school which meets our specifications. Students will be required to sign a charter of use in which they agree to abide by the Heathcote High School technology policy. A mobile phone is not an acceptable computing device.
